Gillian declares, “I’ve always wanted to go to Sri Lanka.” The captivating island’s unique culture, unique wildlife, and sandy beaches fringed with palm trees drew her in. “The British winter was much-needed relief, and I enjoyed the sunshine and relaxed pace of life!”

Gillian says, “There was such a broad range of stuff to do, from biking through the paddy fields to walking through the highland tea plantations and learning about the history of the colorful cave temples of Dambulla.”
But seeing a unique glimpse of everyday life was the true highlight of the trip to Sri Lanka. “We traveled through the back lanes with Club TravelScape , and you had the impression that this was a real experience. It was genuine; it wasn’t all sterilized.
In their garden, where we had lunch, the locals told us their stories. This was one of the houses that Club TravelScape had constructed for tsunami victims. It was as though you could see right through the fabric of the place.
You don’t need to worry if everyone you know has already taken their main summer vacation.
“But the group was just great, a real mix of age and circumstance, and I’m still in touch with some – we’ve already been for drinks,” said Gillian, who had never traveled alone before. the extra money I paid for my own room was worth having a place to relax by myself.
Knowing you don’t have to wait on other people’s schedules to spend a holiday with like-minded people is comforting.
