Asia Dreaming Adventure Guide

Like its amazing cuisine, Asia is zesty, colorful, and spicy all at once. It is home to an incredible array of ancient civilizations, breathtaking animals, and a staggering diversity of cultures. During our trips around Asia, you’re never far from an explosion of color or an incense swirl that will leave your senses tingling! Our team’s responses, which we asked to select their best experiences of their visits to Asia,

showed us that the continent is so varied that no two trips can ever be the same. Here are the top attractions in Asia, ranging from beaches to temples, wildlife to waterfalls.

1) BEST WILDLIFE – Orangutans

Asia Dreaming Adventure Guide

“The Jungle Book is my favorite Disney movie, and I saw an orangutan for the first time that looked just like King Louie!” As I sat in a little clearing, humming to myself, “I want to be like you,” he emerged from the trees. 2) BEST TEMPLE – Stakna Monastery

Asia Dreaming Adventure Guide

Before we explored the monastery, our Indian guide led us to his family’s traditional lunch spot where we were told tales of the local snow leopards. Each person has a spiritual mentor, and at this specific event, he was still a young child and was more preoccupied with his toy bike. Jenny Cox, Product Manager

3) BEST LANDMARK – Great Wall of China

Asia Dreaming Adventure Guide

Its enormous size as it disappears into the distance is astounding. Nothing can get you ready for the sight of it when you see it for the first time. It takes work to walk the path from Jinshanling to Simatai. In many places, the steep and challenging slopes are well worth the views. Kay Palmer, executive assistant View every holiday in China

4) BEST FOR COLOUR – Sari factory in Kandy

“This location taught us everything there is to know about the traditional clothing worn for centuries in Sri Lanka, including how it is made and, most significantly, how to dress in it. Everyone had a great time, and there were lots of chances to get fancy! 5) BEST ON TWO WHEELS – The Golden Mile

“I was first introduced to the wonders of the ‘King Coconut’ here, as the locals say it cures everything.” After a day of cycling and beach exploration, sipping its delicious water while lounging on a hammock and watching the sun set was the ideal way to replenish fluids. Megan Devenish, Manager of Products See all of the holidays in Sri Lanka

6) BEST PARK – Ranthambore National Park

Adrenaline levels spiked as we combed the terrain in quest of the most elusive of cats as we entered Ranthambore, India. Though it’s not a given, there’s a chance you might see them here. I was so focused on watching the tiger that I forgot to breathe since it moved with such assurance and authority. Katherine Tory See all of the Tiger Safari vacations

7) BEST WATERFALL – Erawan Falls

“We left the entrance point and traveled over the well-known forest trails in Thailand, navigating over tree roots and dodging low, mossy branches as we ascended higher and higher until we reached Erawan Falls, the lowest tier of the seven-tiered waterfall series. We reached the fifth tier, where a series of standing pools and naturally occurring rock falls with a swoosh to the bottom were created by the cascading chalky turquoise water. Jenny Cox, South East Asia Adventure’s Product Manager for Families See all vacations in Thailand

8) BEST OFF THE BEATEN TRACK – Angkor Wat

We rode our bicycles, following the lead of tiny tractor vehicles, to some of the farthest temples, just like the locals do. We had them all to ourselves, swinging between vines and hiding in ancient tunnels that the modern world had long since forgotten. With our headlights shining, we felt like brave adventurers making our way into the darkness!
