OVERVIEW
THORN TREE SAFARI-WITH LAKE NAIVASHA Departs Every Tuesday: Safari Based on 4X4 Vehicle
This 4-night road safari operates every Tuesday but can be done on any other day of the week based on an exclusive bus using the supplements indicated.
ITINERARY
DAY WISE ITINERARY
Met on arrival and transferred to the Eka Hotel, where refreshments will be served and a safari briefing will be conducted. Thereafter, drive north through rich farming areas to Aberdare Country Club, arriving in time for lunch at the club (180 km, approximately 3 hours). After lunch, transfer to Ark Lodge. Spend the afternoon at leisure, enjoying excellent views of animals visiting the waterhole from the observation platforms of the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ark Lodge or similar (meals included: lunch and dinner).
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, followed by transfer to the Aberdare Country Club to collect your luggage. Thereafter, drive into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, arriving in time for lunch at Lake Naivasha Country Club (205 kms, approximately 4 hours). Spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure at the club or proceed on any of the available optional excursions (to book and pay locally). Overnight: Lake Naivasha Country Club or similar (Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner.)
After an early breakfast drive to the world-famous Masai Mara Game Reserve, arrive in time for lunch at Keekorok Lodge (315 kms, approximately 6 hours’ drive). Enjoy a late afternoon game-drive in one of the world’s finest game reserves. Dinner and overnight at the Keekorok Lodge or similar (Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner.)
An early morning balloon safari over the Mara followed by a bubbly bush breakfast (optional extra) or an early morning game drive followed by breakfast at the lodge. Rest of the morning at leisure at the lodge. After lunch, proceed on a late afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Keekorok Lodge or similar (Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch and dinner.)
Return to Nairobi by road (280 km, approximately 5 hours’ drive) or fly from Mara to Nairobi by morning flight (prices on request). Refreshments will be served at the Eka Hotel before final transfer to the airport for your outbound international flight or you may proceed with own chosen extension (Meals included: Breakfast)

The above rates are as per the itineraries given above, are as per the meal plans indicated, and include:
• Cost of accommodation on meal plans indicated
• Cost of all transfers and game-drives conducted in 4×4 Land Cruiser
• Cost of all park entrance fees
• Services of professional English driver/guide
• A maximum of 4 singles per group will be charged a single room rate. Any additional singles will be charged at double room rate
The above costs do not include:

• Tips and porterage
• Any extras incurred at the lodges/hotels
• Any visa fees
• Any international or domestic airfare, unless specified above

MORE INFORMATION
New Maasai Mara Park Regulations:
Road safaris
1: All departures by road should exit the National Reserve no later than 10am. Any departure after 1000 hours will attract an extra day’s park fees.
Flying safaris
1: Guest residing in lodges & camps both inside and outside the Maasai Mara Game Reserve and departing by air should arrive at the Mara airstrip not later than 100 hours for morning flights. Afternoon flights departing after 1200 hours will automatically attract extra-day park fees.
Maasai Mara Park Fees:
We have received notification from Maasai Mara Game Reserve Authorities of intention to increase park fees between July 1 and December 31, 2024, to USD 200 per person per day. Should the new park fee take effect, an additional USD 100 per person per day, for a for a total of USD 200 per person in park fees for Cheetah Safari, shall apply for travel between July 1 and December 31, 2024.
Optional Extras on Safari:
• Fly Mara to Nairobi: Adult: USD 250 per person; Child: USD 190 per person (15kg luggage allowance on all light aircraft)
• Please note that clients flying back to Wilson from Safari will also be expected to pay for Wilson Airport transfers accordingly.
• Fly Mara to Mombasa (Ukunda): Adult: USD 390 per adult; Child: USD 300 per child below 12 years (15kg luggage allowance on all light aircraft)
• Additional Park Fees: USD 100.00 per adult and USD 50.00 per child (applicable for afternoon departure from Mara, including Mombasa Air)
• Extra Lunch at Ashnil Mara Camp and transfer to the Airstrip: Adult/Child USD 95.00 per person
• Ballooning: Adult/Child: USD 375 per person
