IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TIGER HILL & NATHULA PASS

Tiger Hill: 

  • As per restrictions imposed by the local tourism department at the time of sunrise, Tiger Hill visit is subject to availability of permit. If the client is not able to cover the Tiger Hill at the time of sunrise, it would be covered with other sightseeing points.

Nathula Pass: 

  • Nathula visit is subject to availability of permit & road condition. Only limited permits are issued by the Sikkim Tourism Department before 24 hrs. of tour, depending on road condition to those travel agencies registered with Sikkim Tourism Department on Rotation basis. We will do our best to get the permits. However, we cannot guarantee. Organising of permits take about minimum of 72 hours with all documents. It cannot be arranged on last minute basis. However, if inspire of our efforts we are unable to get the permits than the tour would be till Baba Mandir only and we shall refund the amount charged for Nathula Pass (if included in package). In case the permit is available one can opt for the trip with an extra charge approx. Rs. 6,000/- per vehicle. Also note that if Nathula Pass permit is issued and due to any reason, the guests cannot visit Nathula Pass then no refund shall be made. THE COSTS OF NATHULA PASS IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE COSTS QUOTED.
  • Nathula Pass can be clubbed on the same day with Tsomo Lake – Baba Mandir. However please note that Nathula Pass is closed on Mon. 
  • NAME, ADDRESS, AGE & GENDER i.e. naming list of all guests traveling are required for processing of permit. It is mandatory that guest should carry photo proof identity card such as Voter Id / Passport / Driving Licence and passport size photograph. PAN Card & Aadhar Card are not considered as a valid ID proof. For above 05 yrs. child School ID card is valid and Birth Certificate in English.
  • Because of limited number of permits issued, guest will have to travel by any car whichever is available (like Innova/Xylo/Scorpio-Maxx/Bolero/Sumo) as per permits already issued. There is no choice of vehicles. Also, the guests must follow following rules as laid down by department of tourism: –
  • In case of less than 6 people from one travel agent, the authorities will generally club the guests of various travel agents together who would be using same vehicle just for 4 km up and down before Nathula pass.
  • Nathula Pass can be visited from 11:00AM to 12:30PM only. Guests will have to start early from Gangtok.  If guest delays than they will not be able to visit Nathula Pass irrespective of the fact whether the permits have been issued.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE HOTELS USED:

  • Categories of Rooms in the packages are based on base category of rooms, unless specified.
  • The standards of hotels in Sikkim & Darjeeling should be not be compared to standards of similar category of hotels in other developed destinations. The hotels have been selected, combined & graded in such a manner so that the Guests gets similar kind of experience at every place.
  • Please note that most of the hotels except selected 5 Star/4 Star hotels in Sikkim & Darjeeling do not have air-conditioned facility in the rooms. On request they can provide table fans based on their availability.
  • Please further note that again most of the hotels do not have lift. In case you have any health-related issues due to which you cannot climb higher floors, please inform us immediately at the time of confirmations so that we can take necessary actions.
  • In the hills, scarcity of water & power-cut is a natural phenomenon. In case of power-cut, the few hotels provide power backup to emergency & common areas. Under such situation, hot water will be provided to the guest in bucket. Request you to kindly bear with such situation. We strongly regret for such inconvenience. Also, guests can come across situation like water (hot) being supplied on time basis – morning & evening.
  • Normal check-in time at hotel is 1400 Hrs & Check-out time is 1100 Hrs. All requests for early check in / late checkout / extending of stay, will be solely at the discretion of the hotels and shall be subjected to the room’s availability. A valid photo ID proof for all guests staying at the hotel is mandatory. PAN Card and Aadhar Cards are not acceptable
  • In case of group or incentive travels, all the rooms provided may not be of same size and category.
  • For Extra Person Sharing the Room & Child with Extra Bed, almost all the hotels provide MATTRESS and ROLL AWAY BEDS as a supplement to Extra Bed.
  • Room Heater is available with an extra cost which would be borne by the guest directly (Except at Premium+, Premium & Luxury categories).

We reserve the right to re-arrange itinerary to suit hotel availability without changing the total number of days in each destination and without compromising with any services.

 

 

VEHICLE DETAILS: 

01 Non-AC Wagon R / Alto / Similar (maximum capacity 3 + 1 Seat for Driver) as per itinerary on point-to-point basis only. When the guests are visiting Tshangu Lake / Baba Mandir, in case the Government do not provide permit for such vehicles, then we shall provide Non-AC Sumo / Max / Bolero / Similar. For travel to North Sikkim, permits are not issued for such vehicles. Guests will have to travel to North Sikkim in Non-AC Sumo / Max / Bolero / Similar.  For such Non-AC Sumo / Max / Bolero / Similar, please carefully read the below details.

01 Non-AC Sumo / Max / Bolero / Similar (maximum capacity 8 + 1 Seat for Driver) as per itinerary on point-to-point basis only. These vehicles in Gangtok as per Government Rules neither can pick the guests up from the hotel nor drop the guests to the hotel. They will leave / pick up the guests from taxi stand. The transfers to/from the taxi stand shall be done by local taxi (Maruti Van / Wagon R / Similar maximum 4 Pax). The costs of such local taxi are already included in the package costs; however, guests may have to wait for taxi transfer. As there are restrictions to entry of vehicles and specific time are allotted for such entries, please request the guests to strictly follow the timing given as because of any delay, vehicles may leave hotel area and park themselves in the designated stand. In such a case, costs of such additional transfer shall be borne by the guests directly.

01 AC Scorpio / Xylo / Innova / Ertiga (maximum capacity 6 + 1 Seat for Driver) as per itinerary on point-to-point basis only. The vehicle may change either every day or in every sector. AC will run only in plains that too when the vehicle is on move and not in Hills. Also, please inform the guest to travel with minimum luggage of one piece per person.  In case of guests are travelling with excess luggage, then they would have to take an extra vehicle to carry the excess luggage, the costs of which will be borne by guest directly on the spot. Though the maximum capacity is 6 pax, however for comfort we recommend 4 -5 guests travel per vehicle. In such a case please request for an additional vehicle at the time of quote. During season time due to peak demand, Innova / Scorpio / Xylo can be provided as per availability only. In case of non-availability of the desired vehicle, we would provide any other vehicle. Further please note that Innova is a low chassis car and is not ideal for travel to North Sikkim. If the guests are travelling to North Sikkim alternative Luxury vehicle like Scorpio / Xylo shall be provided. 

The above-mentioned maximum capacity is including child. If the number of guests travelling increases, then the guests will have to take an additional vehicle, the costs of which will be borne by guest directly on the spot. 

Disposal Vehicle – In case Innova / Scorpio/ Xylo / Ertiga are booked on disposal it will be available strictly between 9 AM to 6 PM only within city limit and only for local basis. Disposal Car rates will not be applicable on the day of city transfers. Also, for any day excursion like Nathula / Chartham / Mirik / Yuksom disposal car rates will not be applicable.

Important points about Vehicle:

  • It is requested that the guests are soft and gentle with the drivers. The driver is from remote places and some of them do not know how to speak as they are not educated in tourism etiquette. 
  • As the vehicles & drivers change always, we will request you to be very careful with personal belongings. Once left in the vehicle, there is, almost nil or little chance, of getting it back.
  • Due to shortage in space for parking, please be informed that you will have to be ready on time & wait in the lobby. Due to uncalculated situations the vehicle reporting may get delayed. We will request you to bear with us and as soon as vehicle arrives you will have to get in, within few seconds, before the policeman blow his whistle. 
  • In case you are arriving at NJP Railway station which has 03 entry & exit gate, please be informed that you will be meeting our Office Executive at the old exit gate (which happens to be the main gate which houses the Army Counter) holding placard in you name / or as advised by you.
  • During season time due to peak demand, Innova / Scorpio / Xylo can be provided as per availability only. In case of non-availability of the desired vehicle, we would provide any other vehicle.
  • AC in luxury vehicle will only operate in plains & not in hills.
  • In case the number of heads is more than the above-mentioned maximum capacity, than the guest will have to take another vehicle with an additional cost.
  • The vehicle changes every day/Sector wise & will be as per the itinerary only. This vehicle is not on disposal.

Important points to be considered during Transfers:

  • Transfer from Bag Dogra/NJP railway station shall be provided from 06:00 hrs. To 16:00 hrs. As most of the destinations from Bag Dogra / NJP Railway Station are within driving time of 3 to 5 hrs. we do not recommend traveling in inadequate day light. However, in unavoidable cases the guest may have to spend the night in Siliguri at an additional cost which will be borne directly by the guests. If there is any late arrival at NJP railway station, considering guests safety, it is recommended that they should stay back at the station. Our representative will meet and at 6:00 a.m. and arrange for their transfers 
  • In case of departures i.e. transfers to Bag Dogra / NJP Railway Station, considering the road condition we recommend that the guests must start with at least having 2 hours surplus in hands when starting for their journey.
  • All transfers from Gangtok / Pelling / Darjeeling to any of onward destinations will be provided either in morning from 07:00 a.m. to 08:00 a.m. or in afternoon from 01:00 p.m. to 02:00 p.m.       

NORTH SIKKIM:

  • Hotels in North Sikkim do not match the standards of hotels in other cities as the places are remote areas. Please do not expect luxury facilities while travelling to these areas. If the guests are unable to compromise on comfort than such places of travel should not be a part of the itinerary. 
  • All the North Sikkim tour will start and end from Gangtok. Because of poor road conditions especially during landslides and road blockages, the guests must travel with limited luggage and keep the balance luggage at the hotel in Gangtok. The best time for travel to North Sikkim is from Mid-February to Mid-June & from Mid-September to Mid-December. 
  • Meals on Day 1 of the tour to North Sikkim would start from dinner at the hotel only. All the other meals would also be served at the same hotel only. If the guest wants to have any meals on the way or in any other hotels, they can do so on direct payment basis. Further meals served to the guests are simple food cooked by the hotels which may not be up to the standards of other cities. Further note that when the guests are staying for 1 night in Latching, their meal plan is APAI and When they are staying for 2 nights in Lachung, than 1 day is on APAI and second day is on MAPAI.
  • In case of load shedding the guests would be provided with candles due to lack of generator facilities. No room heating systems are provided by maximum hotels due to shortage of power. The hotels instead provide hot water bags. Sometimes guests may also come across to situation where hot water are supplied by buckets by the hotels in case geyser doesn’t work due to power failure.
  • Mobile network is poor in this area. However, Airtel, Vodafone & BSNL operates better in this area. Landlines may not be available in most of the hotels because of cable fault or weak signal
  • The hotels here follow have very strict cancellation policy. Once the package is booked & confirmed no refund will be entertained. They also do not take any responsibility for the issue of permits. For any cancellations or no show even because of non-receipt of permits, full cancellation shall be applicable and there will be no refund. 

Lachung:

  • Excursion to Zero point (Lumsdon) is optional and is not included in the package. If the guests want, they can visit the place after paying an extra cost Rs. 4,000 per vehicle directly on the spot. 
  • During winter season because of heavy snow, vehicles will be able to drive till Snow point on the way to Bumthang Valley.

Lichen:

  • Due to low oxygen level as per army’s restriction, guests below 10 years and above 60 years are not allowed to visit Gurudom Lake beyond Gaging Army gate.
