OVERVIEW

The core part of “Wonders of Ladakh Package” is to explore some beautiful destinations in Leh, which shall forever become a part of your memories.  This package combines day to day visits to new places and learning something new on interacting with the local people on your journey. But the first day on your arrival, take a complete whole day rest to get settled with the new environment. From the next day onwards you will venture for your adventure to explore monasteries, Pangong Lake and Khardungla Pass. With every turning of the road the region has to offer something new to your sight; mountains with changing shapes and colors and landscapes.

DAY WISE ITINERARY

Arrive at Leh airport, meet our representative and he will escort to your reserved accommodation. Check In to the hotel and get proper rest to acclimatize. O/N Leh.

After having your breakfast, drive to Sham region to visit a few monasteries. Visit Likir monastery, it is 53kms away from west of Leh, founded in 1065 AD. Alchi Monastery (11th century A.D) located 75kms west of Leh, one of the oldest surviving monasteries of Ladakh. Pathar Sahib Gurudwara and Sangam (Confluence of Zanskar & Indus Rivers). After visiting all the destinations, drive back to the hotel.

After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft) through Changla Pass 17,350 ft, 3rd highest motorable road in Ladakh. Enjoy the beauty of the high altitude Lake, surrounded by grey and brown mountains.Later, drive back to Leh by the same route. O/N Leh.

After the breakfast drive for Khardungla Pass, the World’s highest motorable road at 18380 feet. Savour the moment on the top, get some quick clicks and return to Leh. On arrival in Leh, enjoy some hot tea/ coffee/ lunch and rest for a while.  Rest of the day is at your disposal to explore the local market at one’s leisure. O/N: Leh

Today after finishing breakfast you’ll be going for sightseeing around some local point of interest in and around Leh. Visit Shanti Stupa, located on the hilltop which was built by a Japanese monk in the 1970s for world peace. Once you reach its top you will capture a scenic beauty of the whole Leh town. You will also be visiting the Leh Palace known as “Lachen Palkhar”, it was built around the beginning of 17th century AD. Later you will visit Hall of fame and Spituk monastery. In the evening, stroll around Leh market for some shopping as it is your last day in Leh. O/N : Leh.

Early morning dropping at the Leh airport to board a flight back to your destination.

  • Cost incidental to any change in the itinerary / stay on account of flight cancellation due to bad weather, ill health, roadblocks or any factors beyond control.
  • Cost cannot be clubbed with any other package.

EASY CANCELLATION

  • 10% cancellation charges if cancelled before 30 days prior to the tour.
  • 25% cancellation charges if cancelled within 20 days prior to the tour.
  • 50% cancellation charges if cancelled within 10 days prior to the tour.

No refund for tour starting within 10 days, after starting or middle of the tour

NOTES

Dos and Don’ts

  • On arrival please take proper rest, as you are traveling to high Altitude from Low.
  • Have plenty of drinking water or any kind of liquid (except alcohol)
  • Ladakh is a polythene free region; make sure not to use any polythene when not necessary.
  • Do not contaminate the area by not disposing the waste properly.
  • Medicines of all kinds are usually available in local pharmacies with no prescription necessary.

Things you must carry:

  • Clothing (Heavy Warm Feather Jacket, Warm fleece jacket, woolen and wind proof gloves, Warm hat, woolen Socks, Warm Wind prove Trouser, Sweaters etc.)
  • Sun glass with UV Protection
  • Sun Screen lotion and cold cream.
  • Chapstick or lip balm
  • An identification card (like driving license, voters ID card etc.), along with a photocopy

Medicines:

  • Avomine-Vomiting
  • D cold-Illness/combilflame-Body ache
  • Vicks balm
  • Diamox (250mg) – for high altitude/high pressure.
  • Saridone-Headache.
  • Personal Medicines.
  • Glucon D/ Electral powder and camphor.
  • Also consult your local doctor for any other medicines.

Avoid Acute Mountain Sickness

Acute mountain sickness can occur to anyone at an altitude above 10,000 feet’s from the sea level. The most common symptoms of the acute mountain sickness are headache, disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, nausea, coughing, irregular breathing, breathlessness, lassitude and lack of concentration, Since Leh Town is situated at an attitude of 11,500 ft. above sea level, it is advisable to take the following precaution, so as to acclimatize your body properly.
